Pam's shower was on a beautiful day! This was her 2nd shower, one for friends and coworkers, and this one for family. Her Aunt Mary McCormick and I were the co-hosts, but Mary did most of the work. Family members included Pam's mother Connie; Rush's mother Karin; aunts Mary, DeAnn, and me; sister-in-law Jasmine; nieces Melissa and Caitlyn; cousins Danielle, Natalie, Theresa and Denise. Now here is the tricky part, are Connie's cousins, Suzanne and Monique, 1st cousins once removed or are they 2nd cousins??? The same for the cousin's children...Theresa, Danielle and Natalie brought their children. I know I am missing someone, so please forgive. Mary brought a wonderful meal of 2 kinds of pasta, chicken, 2 salads, breadsticks, and cupcakes with 3 different types of cake.
After lunch we had games organized by Pam's cousin (Mary's daughter), Danielle. She did a great job. One game was like passing on a sentence by whispering in the ear of the person next to you, but it was on paper using pictures and short sentences. The object was to see how close the original sentence was to how it ended up after being passed around the room. There were some pretty funny results!
The next game was about filling up the baby's trunk. My daughter, Denise, won this one, and she is still dreaming about it. Here is her comment from Facebook:
I'm packing baby's trunk with a dozen diapers, two dogs, a sheep, two binkies, a pair of shoes, two bottles, a ball, a rattle, a blue blanket, a bib, rubber pants, a teething ring, a stroller, changing pads, formula, pants, a breast pump, a crib, a clean onsie, pajamas, and baby powder. Huh, I still got it!
Everyone around the room added something to the trunk, and had to recite everything in the trunk in the right order!
The last game was won by Rush's mother, Karin. Now who in the world can remember all of those nursery rhymes? We had to complete the first sentence of nursery rhymes. Karin was also one of the finalist's in the baby trunk game. Hope the baby inherits her good memory!
His room will be totally decked out, and he will be strutting around town in the finest duds! Thanks to all for such nice turnout for Pam and baby.
